Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll sheds light on QB Matt Flynn’s status – NFL News
Seattle Seahawks are somewhat struggling on their offence because their rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, who performed brilliantly during the preseason, has so far failed to replicate that performance.
Although Seahawks do not have a very bad record after four weeks of the season, if they keep on following the current trend on their offence they might end up struggling.
However, it seems that Seahawks are short of options at the moment as their other quarterback Matt Flynn is not hundred percent fit.
According to Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, Flynn can take the field if required, but the head coach mentioned that an elbow injury is keeping the quarterback limited in practice and training.
Carroll told ESPN Seattle, via NFL.com:
“We have a little bit of a problem with Matt. Matt's still not full-speed. Anybody that thinks, OK, let's go with the other guy, well, he can't practice yet. ... He throws 15 throws a day, a couple days a week, so that's not really enough to get him ready
in a game plan. He has to throw 50 balls a day to get ready, so that's not even an issue for us yet to have a chance to put him in."
Seahawks are 2-2 after losing their first and fourth game of the season and winning second and third. They are currently placed at the bottom of National Football Conference (NFC) West, but that record is not worrisome as there are still 12 games left in
the regular season for them.
In the first four games, Wilson has started for Seahawks. The rookie quarterback has completed a total of 60 passes of 100 attempts while gaining 594 yards. He has sent four touchdown passes and thrown four interceptions as well.
Flynn, who has not yet been able to start for Seahawks after joining the team earlier this year, can be considered by the team management for the starting role if Wilson is unable to be more productive.
Due to the competitive nature of NFC West and a surprisingly well start to the season campaign for Arizona Cardinals (4-0), Seahawks face a stiff challenge in the division in which the Cards have certainly emerged as another playoff contender.
