Seattle Seahawks outclass St. Louis Rams 30-13 – NFL Week 14 Recap
It was yet another disappointing day for St. Louis Rams that were outclassed by Seattle Seahawks 30-13 at the CenturyLink Field in the week-14 game of the National Football League current season on Monday.
By securing their sixth victory of the season, Seahawks have kept their playoff hopes alive. On the other hand, the adversity continues for the hapless Rams, who were handed their 11th loss of the season.
Seahawks grabbed a lead in the first quarter when Michael Robinson rushed for 17 yards after Doug Baldwin blocked a punt.
"As far as my expectations go, I expected to be successful. I didn't know how successful, but I expected to be able to come in here and win a job in some capacity, because if you don't have that confidence in yourself you're not
going to win a job," Baldwin said after the game. "To be where I am now, no I didn't expect this. But at the same time I'm not satisfied."
At 1:35, Steven Hauschka scored a 42-yard field goal to take the lead to 10-0.
The second quarter did not see many scoring moves. The only field goal in the quarter came at 11:04, when Rams kicker Josh Brown kicked the ball from 46 yards to reduce the lead 10-3.
Seahawks returned strongly after the halftime. From 23 yards, Steven Hauschka scored his second field goal of the game to extend the lead to 13-3. After around 10 minutes, Rams got an opportunity to move the scoreboard. They managed
three points, thanks to a 29-yard field goal by Josh Brown, to take the score to 13-6. With only six seconds left in the quarter, Tarvaris Jackson sent a 29-yard touchdown-pass to Doug Baldwin, increasing the Seahawks’ lead to 20-6.
In the fourth quarter, Seahawks increased their lead by managing another field goal. Steven Hauschka kicked the ball from 48 yards to take the score to 23-6. Rams tried to initiate different drives, but their offence failed to
produce anything significant. At 4:39, they finally got a touchdown when Steven Jackson managed a one-yard run to reach the end zone. Things did not settle there as Seahawks responded by scoring a touchdown. At 2:57, Marshawn Lynch managed a 16-yard run to
extend the lead and take the score to 30-13.
"I feel like we've just lacked consistency all year," Rams quarterback Sam Bradford said. "It's just really hard to get a rhythm going when you don't establish the path on a run."
