Seattle Seahawks ready for the upcoming drafts – NFL News
With just around a week left in the National Football League (NFL) drafts for this year, all the franchises are working their hard to rightly point out their needs, which could be addressed in the drafts, but the Settle Seahawks are done with their homework
and they are just waiting for the arrival of the draft day.
While reflecting on draft preparations, Seahawks’ general manager, John Schneider, said that all the homework has been done and all the evaluations have been made. He commented:
“We’re in a position now where we’ve kind of covered ourselves a little bit where we can just be prepared. We’ve got good input from the coaches. The scouts have been out busting their tails. The preparation is in place. Our process is pretty much winding
down.
“We can just sit and take players.”
Under head coach, Pete Carroll, Seahawks have played two seasons. In Carroll’s first season, the team won seven games and lost nine in the regular season and qualified for the playoffs through a wildcard entry.
Seahawks defeated New Orleans Saints in the wildcard round and lost against Chicago Bears in the playoff divisional round.
In the last NFL season, Seahawks once again finished with the same record and won seven games in the regular season, but this time they could not reach the postseason.
However, the management thinks that the team is heading in the right direction under Carroll, who is expecting an improved performance from the team’s offence in the next season, especially after the addition of quarterback, Matt Flynn, who deserted Green
Bay Packers to join the Hawks.
Flynn is not the only one who has headed to Seattle during the free agency. In fact, Seahawks have done a satisfactory job to overcome their flaws by hiring different players off the free agency and that’s what gives them room to relax before the drafts.
The general manager said of the team’s situation:
“From the areas in free agency that we’ve addressed, I think it has put us in a position to just let the draft kind of come to us and not feel like we need to move around or do anything that would put the organization in jeopardy at any one position.”
