Seattle Seahawks roster got ‘punked’ by Head Coach Pete Carroll and Terrell Owens – NFL News
Seattle Seahawks Head coach Pete Carroll has the reputation of always doing something funny during the practice session.
Carroll lived up to his reputation in a recent practice session as he put up a prank alongside newly signed receiver Terrell Owens for the rest of the team.
A curious type of ritual exists in Seahawks camp that any new player will get a prank from the rest of the team.
Yet, it was totally opposite case on Wednesday, as both Carroll and Owens had a prank which surprised the rest of the team. The video of the prank was released on the internet.
Long-snapper Clint Gresham tweeted about the incident. It said:
"Our whole team just got punked soo bad by TO & coach Carroll. Wow that was the most akward moment ever and was so glad it was a joke! #punk."
This prank reveals the relationship that Carroll and Owens have developed in just a few days.
This incident put up a bright smile on Carroll’s face after facing some heat for getting his second violation in this offseason. Seahawks will have to be careful, otherwise they would be penalised by the league.
Seahawks threw Owens with pads on the field at a time when he was not allowed to practise with pads on, according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Owens had his first-ever practice with Seahawks on Wednesday. He returns to the league after playing a season for Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League.
The 38-year-old Owens has been getting a lot of media attention as he gets his last chance to excel in the NFL.
It was a surprising move by Seahawks as they have a tendency to promote young players than older ones.
Yet, Owens provides a much needed experience to the youthful roster and a vulnerable offensive line. He will have to prove that he is fit enough to play in a league, though.
Owens has previously expressed his intentions of being a team players rather than playing to get personal prominence. He said:
"It's all about for me now being part of something rather than being the center of something. I understand a lot of the media is here because of me and again, I have changed in a lot of ways.”
