Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch upbeat about upcoming season – NFL News
After having a gem of a season in 2011, running back Marshawn Lynch is looking forward to having an even better season this time.
He has been pretty impressive throughout his time with Seattle Seahawks. Even in training camp, he has shown no sign of rustiness of the offseason.
Seahawks played a mock game on Sunday and Lynch started the game from exactly where he left off in the last season.
He once had a 70-yard run after which he was brought down by defensive end Bruce Irvin. There were some doubts about what type of output Lynch would give after a few off-field issues.
He was arrested on last month for driving under influence (DUI) charge after which he issued an apology to Seahawks and their fans.
His good performance will come as a relief for Seahawks camp as he remains one of their main players in the offensive line-up.
Head Coach Pete Carroll was very impressed with Lynch’s productivity in training camp. Carroll said:
"That's not a surprise. He can fly."
Lynch is currently ranked 12th in the running back position in fantasy football by NFL.com.
Lynch signed a multi-year contract back in March and it was hoped that he would be more focused on his game this season.
Lynch will look to have a better support this season as Seahawks have added some exciting talent on the roster.
Buffalo Bills drafted Lynch in the first round (12th overall pick) in the 2007 draft. He played four seasons with the Bills after which he was signed by Seahawks for a four-year, $31 million contract.
In the 2011 season, Lynch played 15 games and caught 285 passes and managed 12 rushing touchdowns while covering 1,204 rushing yards.
Lynch is very popular among Seahawks fans. Guys in Olympia Washington have recently made a huge “Beast Mode” corn which is replica of Lynch.
