Seattle Seahawks set to host Philadelphia Eagles at CenturyLink Field in Week 13 – NFL Preview
The defending National Football Conference East champions, Philadelphia Eagles, are going to take on Seattle Seahawks at the CenturyLink Field in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season on Thursday.
Unfortunately, it is not the division raking that Eagles are now fighting for. They know they cannot make it to the playoffs by topping the division, which is dominated by Dallas Cowboys at the moment with a complete one-game lead
over New York Giants that are placed second. Eagles have nothing to lose, but their pride and character, and they are up for saving it.
Eagles’ rookie centre Jason Kelce believes that things are not going well for his team. When you are losing and backed into a corner, he said, that is the time when the true character shows.
"These last five games? I think they'll show the character," the rookie said. "Whenever you're facing adversity, or whenever you're put in a situation where it's tough, you don't know what the outcome is going to be for the year
and everything else. I think true character.”
Eagles’ regular quarterback Michael Vick, who has not been able to recover from two broken ribs yet, is expected to miss another game. His replacement, Vince Young, is ready for his third start of the season. Last week, Eagles
were defeated by New England Patriots 38-20. Young started that game as well and displayed a satisfactory performance by sending 26 passes of 48 attempts for 400 yards and recording a touchdown and an interception.
Eagles have won four games this season and lost seven. Their opponents, Seattle Seahawks, share the same stats.
Although Seahawks are placed second in the NFC West division, their chances of entering the playoffs as division toppers are also in jeopardy. The reason for that is the dominance of San Francisco 49ers in the division with nine
victories and only two defeats.
Seahawks will be starting with versatile Ben Obomanu in the absence of injured wide receiver Sidney Rice. Ben has started five of the 11 games he has played in the season. He has scored two touchdowns and recorded 28 receives for
295 yards with an average of 10.5 yards per game.
Seahawks lost their last game 23-17 after coming in a winning position against Washington Redskins. This season, they have committed a lot of penalties, which is a grave cause of concern for the players and the coaches. Safety
Kam Chancellor has called for more disciplined performance from his players in order to get better result.
"It just comes back to discipline. We've just got to be more disciplined," safety he said. "We got to start at practice. We get penalties in practice and it shows in the game. So we just got to start at practice and be penalty-free
in practice so it can carry over to the game."
