The Vancouver-based side were dominant for better part of the 90-minute game, but Eric Hassli’s brace could only save a point for the visitors as the match ended in a tie. The Frenchman scored his first goal in 29th minute to take an early lead, but the second goal in 85th minute was the equalizer to the Sounders’ two second-half strikes (81st and 84th minute).
The match started in brisk pace in what was a physical affair right from the start – anticipated response from the two regional rivals. Although both teams belong to cross border territories, the Cascadian summit has brought much rivalry to the aforementioned parties.
Hassli threatened first with a shot on target in the 8th minute. The player drove the ball at goal from just outside the box but missed as the ball narrowly missed the right post.

The Rave Green’s reply came in the 15th minute when Lamar Neagle was fed with the ball by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Osvaldo-Alonso-c28822 just outside the penalty area. Neagle’s left-footed shot flew inches past right post to keep the score line barren of any goals.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alonso-c5254 was again in the picture 14 minutes later but for the wrong reasons this time. Owing much to his foul play on Hassli in the penalty area, the Sounders conceded a penalty. The Frenchman stepped up and coolly dispatched the spot-kick to open the scoring for the Caps.
The remaining part of the opening half remained a physical affair with long balls being played aplenty. Caps’ http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alain-Rochat-c4232 and Sounders’ Alonso received a yellow card apiece in the first minute of the first-half injury time.
Second half started even more physical as the Caps searched for a second goal and Sounders looked for an equalizer. Both sides were to get their wish later in the game as three goals came in just five minutes.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauro-Rosales-c24983 equalized the score line in the 81st minute when the striker dribbled with the ball from 20 yards out and let fly a rasping drive. His audacious attempt knocked the back of the net to level the scores for the Rave Green.
The ever brisk Alonso had been toiling hard for a better part of the game, but his 84th minute left-footed effort finally took the Sounders into a leading position. However, the Seattle fans’ joy was short-lived.
Restless Hassli found the net in the very next minute from an impossible angle. The Caps hitman sprinted to the right side of the field and shot for the far post, scoring one of the goals of the season.
No addition was made to the score line following that and the two sides shared the richly deserved spoils following the full time whistle.
