The Italian international discusses his possible future destinations, and his target of making the Italian squad for the upcoming European Championship.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724 is determined to find his best form before the end of the 2011/12 campaign.
The possible reasons might include his wish to leave Parma for greener pastures, and to earn a place in Cesare Prandelli’s Italian national side for the Euro 2012.
The diminutive Italian has been at the Crociati for the past two seasons, and it is understood that the playmaker will be parting ways with the club by the end of the season. The 25-year-old is owned by Parma and Juventus, with the
two clubs holding 50% of the rights to the player. Giovinco has not made any concrete statements in reference to his future, stating that there are a few possibilities at his disposal.
It is believed that the playmaker might move back to the Old Lady, and during his interview, he left that window of opportunity open, remarking:
“The future? We’ll see, things will be decided with the club. I will not necessarily stay at Parma. Is it possible to return to Juventus? I open all the doors, I’m not closed to anyone. In football anything can happen.”
The second-striker has not had the best of forms of late, scoring just a solitary goal in the last six games played for the Gialloblu. In total, he has assisted in five goals and scored 10 goals for Parma this season. The striker’s
misfortunes have run parallel with the winless streak of the Emiliani.
Reflecting on the need to cement his position in the squad for Euro 2012, the former Empoli man stated:
“I still don’t feel assured of a place at Euro 2012 - there are still 11 games to go, I want to secure safety with my teammates and maybe score some more goals, because that’ll be the only way I get to Euro 2012.”
Giovinco has a golden opportunity of making it to the Italian national team, given the shortage of strikers available at Prandelli’s disposal. A return to form for the diminutive striker would guarantee his chances of selection in the squad.
