The Parma striker’s agent has insisted that the player will snub the Bianconeri unless he is given assurances; compares the Italian to Gianfranco Zola.
The Gialloblu acquired Sebastian Giovinco on a co-ownership deal in 2010, and the Italian international has not let the club down. The pocket-sized striker is in sensational form since moving to Stadio Ennio Tardini, and has not
looked back since then.
Owing to his fine form, Giovinco has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs including his former employers, Juventus.
The Atomic Ant's agent was talking to Tuttosport regarding the future of the talented youngster, amidst rumours of the striker being linked with a move to the Turin giants.
He has remarked that the player is sceptical about his chances in the Juve squad.
“The project will be fundamental when it comes to considering his next club. Sebastian will need to receive certain technical guarantees from a Coach and a club. We are not talking about the boy’s status, but his sporting future.
It all depends on the Coach who wants him more…” Andrea D’Amico commented.
The agent has stressed that the player is not short of options and if Juventus fail to meet the striker’s demands, he will move elsewhere.
The former Empoli star is also linked with a move to Premier League side, Chelsea, and the agent believes that the striker can have an impact similar to that of Gianfranco Zola's at Stamford Bridge.
“Giovinco would become the new Zola over there.” Added the agent
Zola was a huge success at Chelsea, and he is still considered as one of the best players to grace the Premier League.
Giovinco has scored seven goals in 14 league appearances, and has unarguably been the best player of the season so far for the Crociati. His impressive performances for Parma have made him a regular in Cesare Prandelli’s Italian
national team. Several football pundits have tipped him to play a big role in Italy’s endeavours in the upcoming Euro 2012.
The Italian will cost the suitors around 15 million Euros.
