Sebastian Korber shines at the stage 6 of the Tour of Taihu Lake 2012
Sebastian Korber of Team Nutrixxion Abus claimed the sixth stage of the Tour of Taihu Lake 2012 after a splendid display of his abilities during the event.
The cyclist took a total time of 2 hours, 12 minutes and 11 seconds to occupy the top podium position through the 106 kilometre race between Huzhou Changxing - Taihu Tourist Resort.
"When I took the last curve, I didn't know the win was around the corner," he cited after winning the race.
“This race is perfect for me. It's flat. The Taihu lake is beautiful. I love this race".
Joeri Stallaert of Team Landbouwkrediet-Euphony rode brilliantly but could not match the likes of his German competitor and had to settle for the second spot.
"Inside the last kilometer, I was sitting on [Alexander] Serebryakov's wheel," Stallaert said.
"But there was almost a crash, so I jumped on [points classification leader Alois] Kankovsky's wheel. I opened my sprint with 200 metres to go”.
“I was faster than everyone else. I really thought that I had won but I got blocked by the headwind. Timing wasn't right. It gives me big regrets. Hopefully I'll win tomorrow".
