Sebastian Saavedra to race for Conquest Racing in final IndyCar round in Las Vegas – IndyCar news
Conquest Racing and Sebastian Saavedra will reunite after a two-race absence from the IndyCar 2011 season.
Saavedra has participated in first 15 races of the season in which one was not completed.
During the fifth event of the season at Indy, Saavedra was not able to complete the race. The young Colombian driver completed the 2010 IndyCar season at the Homestead Miami Speedway.
Saavedra is working hard to improve ahead from his season’s best race finish at 11th position in the Sao Paolo, Brazil event.
Saavedra will race at the Las Vegas IndyCar event after taking part in initial 15 races of the 2011 season.
He said, “It's good to be back. I don't like to watch the races from a couch and now I'm ready to make my second finale with Conquest Racing. It's been a year of getting the miles on my back and I'm excited to keep putting everything into practice.”
Saavedra added that he has earned a lot of experience by racing in a full IndyCar season. He claimed it to be more beneficial than his full racing career.
Team boss of Conquest Racing Eric Bachelart has praised the return of Saavedra for the final IndyCar championship round at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Conquest Racing team owner, Eric Bachelart said, “We are very happy to have Sebastian back in our car. He's done a good job all year and we are very glad that he'll drive the No. 34 Bogota es Mundial chassis for the last time before we move on to the 2012
cars.”
Bachelart added that it will be an exciting event. The grid will hold 34 cars in the season’s finale which will make for a great race day. The team boss is keen to collect good results with Saavedra.
Currently, Saavedra holds 25th position in the 2011 season standings after missing last two events in Japan and Kentucky.
In the previous two rounds, the other two team drivers, Dillon Battistini and Joao Paulo de Oliveira took part, both finishing at tenth place.
