Sebastian Vettel: There are many races left in 2012 Formula 1 season – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel says that there are many races yet to come in 2012 Formula 1 season and feels confident that his team will be at the front in the next two races.
“I'm confident for the next two races,” Vettel insisted, “We had a good race in Australia while, in Malaysia, it was a bit chaotic. It's a shame I didn't get a point there, [but] there are a lot of races to come and should be in good shape.”
The two-time world champion, Vettel has advised his contenders that he is not under any kind of pressure after the second GP held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia in which he could not be able to score even a single point and had a clash with
Narain Karthikeyan of HRT.
Moreover, the defending champion said that their car RB8 has the potential to challenge the championship title in this season.
Red Bull have won the last two championship titles out of which they have completely dominated during the preceding year with their driver, Vettel who took victories in 11 out of 19 Grands Prix.
However, they have been seen struggling with finding their true potential in the season so far.
It would be important to mention that here that Red Bull faced difficulties due to the upgrades in the car on the ending day of the final pre-season test held at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona and they could only cover 23 laps while ended last on the
timesheets.
Furthermore, Vettel is on 6th position in the drivers’ standings in the season until now with 18 points which he secured after his second podium finish in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia.
Nevertheless, he said that he feels positive for the season ahead. He also said that they have been making the best of the efforts to make the essential developments and the substantial preparations in the car’s pace which they will prove in the upcoming
races.
“I've had a couple of hours in our simulator in order to prepare for China and Bahrain - now we have to prove it on the circuits themselves,” he noted.
