Sebastian Vettel: There is no reason for me to leave Red Bull
Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel believes he has many good reasons to stick with his current team for a long time.
The reigning world champion attempted to dampen the flames over the ever increasing speculations regarding his desire to switch to Ferrari.
The rumours have been looming large since the German has won the championship last November. After the 2010 season, the most common question Vettel faced during press conferences was, how long he plans to stay with the Austrian team.
The 23-year-old has stated time and again that like any other driver, he also wishes to join legendary teams like Ferrari or McLaren somewhere in future. However, at the end of the last season, the team management announced that they wish to make the decision
of leaving as tough for Vettel as they can.
Earlier this week, the driver expressed his desire to enter the red team once again. Answering the ever increasing questions regarding Vettel's future, his team boss, Christian Horner stated that the team believes in giving complete freedom to its drivers.
He added that Vettel is free to make his decisions and can express his desires to the media freely.
In an attempt to cool the matter, Vettel stated this morning, "There is no reason for me to go elsewhere.”
Vettel is a home product for the Austrian team. He was introduced in the Formula 1 world by Toro Rosso, the junior team owned by the beverage manufacturing company, Red Bull. Only after one complete season he was picked up by Red Bull Racing where he ended
his second season as the sport's youngest world champion ever.
He assured this morning that he was very happy with the team and so far had no plans of switching to Ferrari. While expressing his contentment, the driver recalled his first day at Valencia, at the first pre-season test session and said, "The blue of my
car was shining particularly nicely; I could see the number 1; I thought to myself 'Boy, life is good!'"
Vettel’s contract with the team will end after this season, and only his 2011 season campaign with Red Bull Racing will decide his destiny for the next season.
