Sebastian Vettel believes all the trouble is bringing Red Bull Racing together – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that they are not feeling upset over the ongoing criticism and asserted that all the recent troubles are bringing them together to work out as a team.
Vettel completely dominated during the last season as he claimed 11 grands prix victory. However, in this season he has not been able to explore his true potential as Red Bull have been criticised way too much over their car’s design.
At present, the veteran German driver is standing at third place in the drivers’ championship behind his teammate, Mark Webber. Moreover, he is far behind from the Spaniard, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who is presently leading the drivers’ standings with
164 points and has scored three race wins in the season so far.
Meanwhile, in response to the ongoing criticism, the two-time world champion said that he doesn’t understand why their creativity is put under question every time while he expressed that he has no idea about the banning of the double diffuser.
“We had a good car with a double diffuser, but it was banned,” Vettel told Germany’s Sport Bild. “We had a good car with a blown diffuser — it was also banned. Why? I have no idea.”
Nonetheless, he said that they are not disappointed due to the difficulties which they are facing. Furthermore, he said that all the hardships have brought them near and insisted that they have become more united to fight for the championship title.
In addition, he said that they are aiming to maximise the opportunities in the remaining season so as to win this year’s championship battle.
“All the trouble lately is not pushing us apart. It’s a long season. If you compare it to a lot of other sports, it’s one of the longest seasons there are. I think it’s important, even if sometimes you would like to carry on, I think you need the break,
so it’s important to make use of it,” he added.
Currently, the Milton Keynes based team is standing at the top of the constructors’ championship and has a very strong lead over all the rivals.
Let’s see how the defending champions show up in the approaching races.
