Sebastian Vettel believes no car stands out in 2012 – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel believes that there is no car which stands out in the 2012 Formula 1 season until now and said that the championship fight is still open.
Vettel insisted that although McLaren have scored two consecutive race wins, however, it is still very difficult to make any kind of projections about the season ahead.
It will be important to mention that the current leader in the drivers’ championship, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari said that he considers the Woking based team as the most competent contender for this year’s title. Conversely, the defending champion has shown his disagreement with Alonso’s statement and has said that the battle is on and there is no contender which is dominant.
"This year it's difficult to name the car," he said. "It depends very much which race we are talking about. I think the bottom line is that the cars are very close to each other and it's difficult to know before the weekend which is going to win. It's not just one or two teams, last weekend we had two Saubers in the first two rows, unfortunately they didn't make it past turn one, but I think the speed was there for them and it could be the same here. There are no s**t cars this year and no cars that stand out."
Furthermore, the veteran German driver said that he is expecting a strong competition in the Italian GP which is to be held at Autodromo di Monza this weekend. Nevertheless, he said that they have performed well at Monza during the preceding season and are hoping to attain same results this year too.
In addition, he said that he struggled during the qualifying of the Belgian GP, nonetheless, he managed to limit the damage for his team and secured an inspiring second podium finish.
Over and above, he said that he is keenly looking forward to deliver his best in the qualifying of the forthcoming race so as to secure a higher grid slot to achieve better results.
Let’s see how the two-time world champion shows up in the remaining eight grands prix.
