Sebastian Vettel believes that he has a long way to go
The Red Bull driver and now the youngest champion ever in Formula One history, Sebastian Vettel stated that he has a place in the history books of the sport and will try to make even a stronger mark before he ends his career with the series.
The driver won his first championship last month after bagging the fifth race win of the season, at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The victory not only made him the second German driver ever to have claimed a title, after the legendary racer, Michael Schumacher,
but also he broke the record of the McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton, by becoming the youngest champion  ever in the sport’s history, at the age of 23 years and nine months.
Before making this mighty record, the German also held the record of being the youngest racer ever in the sport’s history to bag points in a race, the youngest driver to have got a pole and a podium and finally the youngest one ever to have won a race. Having
achieved so much in just three years of his Formula One career, Vettel is already in the history books of Formula One but he is adamant to do much more before leaving the sport.
Having embraced a victory at such a young age and that too in a year that saw a very tough battle for the title among the top five drivers that went on until the very last round of the season is not an ordinary achievement. The young driver stormed into
the biggest racing series of the world, and came up with remarkable performances; it is commonly predicted that he has a very long way yet to go.
Although Vettel, announced that he is going to show an even better race in the 2011 season but many speculate even a tighter battle next year. With five champions on the grid, and four very strong teams, the next season is ought to be promising.
However, he has strong belief in himself as he said, “I never give up is clearly a very strong candidate for my best character trait. I have led this championship exactly once, at the end, which is what really counted… But the most important thing is to
never give up the belief in yourself. And the team always gives me the feeling that they too believe in me.”
