Sebastian Vettel cannot find a reason to leave Red Bull Racing – Formula 1 news
The 2010 Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel recently stated that he is not interested in signing with Ferrari in the near future and that he is willing to stay with Red Bull Racing.
Sebastian Vettel secured the 2010 Formula 1 title at the grand finale in Abu Dhabi even though he was in 3rd place in the drivers’ standings almost 15 points behind the championship leader Fernando Alonso back then. However, the
team planned the race very cleverly and enabled the young German to finish a sufficient amount of points ahead of Fernando Alonso and the rest of the title competitors to become the youngest Formula 1 champion in the history of the sport.
However, Sebastian stated around the end of 2010 that he is eyeing for a better and more established team like Ferrari or Mercedes for the future as he wants to win more titles and in order to do that, he would need a team that delivers a good car consistently
each year.
As a result, Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo also stated that he would like to sign Sebastian Vettel as well in the near future but according to Red Bull boss Christian Horner’s recent statement, Sebastian is now quite focused with Red Bull Racing.
“Sebastian has been with the Red Bull family a long time now, since his karting career, and we've achieved a great deal together. I'm hopeful that will continue for many years,” said Christian Horner.
It seems that Vettel also confirmed this statement recently as well. Sebastian stated that he wants nothing more than the fastest car available for him that would suite him.
“There is no reason for me to go elsewhere. The blue of my car was shining particularly nicely; I could see the No. 1; I thought to myself 'Boy, life is good! You think about how to get the best possible package. And I feel very good with Red Bull,” he said.
Sebastian Vettel is expected to be one of the top running drivers once again in the 2011 Formula 1 season and it is going to be interesting to see how he performs this season as his future would depend a lot on his 2011 performance.
