Sebastian Vettel confident about Red Bull Racing Team KERS system
Red Bull Racing Team’s Sebastian Vettel has recently stated that he is confident about his team’s KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) before heading to the Turkish Grand Prix.
“We have had some problems but have had very good people working on it. That's why for this next race I am not worried”, said Vettel.
Vettel has been at the top of his game since the beginning of the 2011 Formula 1 season since he scored 2 victories in just 3 races up until now. His pole position setting time was around 7 tenths of a second faster than his nearest rival, Lewis Hamilton’s,
time during the qualifying session of the Chinese Grand Prix.
However, the team has been scoring these results despite a lot of problems in its KERS and according to some recent reports; the team has finally gotten over these problems.
“Our main focus of attention has been to try to get on top of the KERS issues. It's a relatively new technology to us but we are working hard to understand and get on top of it. We've got some updates, which hopefully will address some of the issues we've
had in the early races”, he added.
The team’s advisor Helmut Marko revealed this news a couple of days ago and after that, Sebastian has revealed that he is now comfortable with the team’s KERS.
However, Sebastian has not been a victim of the team’s “KERS problems” as much as his teammate, Mark Webber, has been, who faced a major problem in his system during the Malaysian Grand Prix as a result of which, the team was forced to run his car without
the system throughout the rest of the race.
Vettel has scored 3 pole positions in 3 races and at first it seemed that this season is going to be dominated by Red Bull Racing Team, but since McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton scored the victory at the Chinese Grand Prix, it seems that the tables have now turned
and Red Bull now has to work even harder in order to secure victories at the upcoming races.
