Sebastian Vettel determined for 2012 championship – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel says that he is determined to claim his third consecutive championship title in the upcoming 2012 Formula 1 season starting off at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia on this weekend.
The talented German driver took a spectacular victory at the final Grand Prix of 2010 and won his first championship title. Later, in the following year he completely dominated amongst all the other contenders during the championship and became the youngest
double champion in the history of F1 by securing 11 wins.
Vettel struggled during the final day of the last test held at Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona when he faced some problems in the new car RB8 and could only manage to complete 23 laps. Nevertheless, he still had been considered as the out-and-out favourite
for the forthcoming title fight, while his team had been deemed as the front-runner for the season ahead.
In addition, Vettel said that he had always planned to win the title. Furthermore, he said that he won the first championship to prove a point to himself rather than to the rest of the team. Besides, he was completely enthused to be triumphant in the future
too.
“And after winning the first world championship it is a great relief in many ways because you have proven to yourself that you can do it - which is more important than anything else as it is something that no one can take from you,” said Vettel.
Moreover, he said that he was prepared for the sprint of victory to come to conclusion but he said that he still felt infuriated at his defeat. Nonetheless, he said that everyone would have to face the defeat someday. He also said that there was nothing
wrong with losing and one who would perform consistently well would be the one worthy to claim the title.
“Everyone will get beaten one day, and it is not about that particular day but how you come back. There is nothing wrong with losing, but we have a lot of races and the one who is most consistent and on average the best one deserves to win the world championship,”
said Vettel.
