Sebastian Vettel eager to defend his title in 2011
The 2010 Formula 1 world champion, Sebastian Vettel, recently stated that he can’t wait to defend his title in 2011 and is waiting for the season to begin as quickly as possible.
Red Bull racing team is expected to reveal its new car at the first pre-season test session, which is expected to take place in Valencia on the 1st of February. Ferrari has already revealed its car and it seems that their new car sounded pretty
good at the informal test they ran after the car’s launch in Italy.
Sebastian Vettel secured the title at the very last race after he won the race and snatched the drivers’ standings lead from Fernando Alonso to become the youngest Formula 1 champion in the history of the sport.
Sebastian is expected to be back on top once again but it’s not going to be as easy as it seems since Ferrari, McLaren and this time, Mercedes as well are going to do everything in their power to secure the titles for themselves this time.
“I can't wait to get back in the car. Of course it will be a very tough season but you had enough time to prepare for it”, the Red Bull driver, Vettel, said in an interview.
The 2010 champion also stated that Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, and, Jenson Button are going to be on top once again and they are going to give the young German a tough time in 2011.
“I believe it will be very tight and there will be several candidates... Fernando will certainly be strong again, but you should not forget McLaren and Mercedes... And you should not forget that an outsider may make a big step forwards and surprise us”,
said Vettel.
It is expected that Michael Schumacher is going to be a threat to the top running drivers as well this year since his team has stated that they have a “race winning” car this year and with a driver like Michael, the team is definitely going to make things
tough for Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull.
“There is always a lot of talk ahead of a season so it’s good that we are starting soon. You can't really say anything until the tests and first races have taken place. The role of being the man to beat is very special for me. I enjoy it a lot but I know
it will be tough to keep it”, said Sebastian.
