Sebastian Vettel enjoying the thrill in second half of 2012 season – Formula 1 news
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing is enjoying the thrilling end of the current 2012 season.
The close competition for the championship title lead leaves him excited. The Singapore Grand Prix winner views the situation as interesting because the drivers do not know how they will leave the circuit. Vettel dedicated his victory to the late Sid Watkins.
The Red Bull driver is enjoying the season because the drivers do not know how they will leave the circuit due to the close competition among the top four positions.
He believes that anything can happen on the circuit but looks forward towards ending the race before other drivers.
Vettel said, “The car seems to be competitive and we've just got to use the momentum and keep pushing in the next couple of races to make sure we finish ahead of those guys.”
He accepted that they benefited from the retirement of Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, who was leading the race until then but suffered a gearbox failure. The two times champion believes that the Singapore GP was challenging and was too long. The race was ended
because it had reached its 2 hours limit.
Talking about the Marina Bay Street Circuit he said, “It's very long - we did the full two hours - the circuit is a killer, there's so many bumps, there's no space for mistakes and the race just seems to go on forever. Obviously we benefitted a little bit
from Lewis' failure, which I could see a couple of laps before that he lost oil.”
The Singapore GP leaves the German driver excited because they have been able to generate the pace with their RB8. The proud rider dedicated his victory to the late Watkins because he feels that he is one of the reasons due to which they are on the circuit
and his efforts for safety are impressive. Besides, he thanked Watkins for working on improvements related to the safety of the sport.
Vettel won the Singapore GP after registering himself fastest in the three practice sessions on Friday and Saturday.
Let’s see how the German driver performs in the remainder of the season.
