Sebastian Vettel feels concerned about reliability issues – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that he may lose the chance of winning his third consecutive world championship title if he faces any reliability issue in the remaining three grands prix of the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Vettel has become the most favourite title contender after claiming his fourth consecutive victory in the Indian GP at Buddh International Circuit last weekend. Moreover, he is now leading the drivers’ championship with 240 points and is 13 points ahead
of his main opponent, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
Even though, he has been considered as the out-and-out favourite for the title and seems unbeatable now. However, he is still feeling concerned about the reliability of his car because he has faced some problems in a couple of races in the season until now
due to which he lost some crucial points.
Furthermore, he said that they must keep on making the significant developments in their car to maintain their lead in the championship fight.
“If you just look back, India was a great race for us,” Vettel said. “A couple of laps from the end we had some sparks, obviously it was not a problem but it doesn't take much of an imagination if something like this comes up it shows you how vulnerable
you are no matter in which position you are. If you are in lead with big gap or you are just somewhere in midfield fighting for position, it doesn't take much and you might end the race not scoring the points that you were hoping for and then whole picture
looks different again.”
In addition, he said that he is positively looking forward to perform well in the Abu Dhabi GP which is going to be held at Yas Marina Circuit this weekend. Besides, he said that he is expecting an intense battle in the remainder of the season amongst the
top three teams. Therefore, he insisted that he really needs to work hard to come up stronger so as to win the title.
It will be very exciting to see how he shows up in the forthcoming races and whether he claims the championship title or not.
