Sebastian Vettel feels determined to win his fourth championship title in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that he is not going to relax after winning his third successive world drivers’ championship title in the 2012 Formula 1 season and is very much determined to win the fourth one in the next year.
The Milton Keynes based squad faced immense difficulties during the start of this season as they failed to create full understanding about the design of RB8.
Furthermore, Vettel struggled with his pace in the opening few races and could not dominate as compared to the last season in which he took 11 race victories.
Nevertheless, the chief technical officer of Red Bull, Adrian Newey kept on working hard and finally developed the most competitive car towards the end of the season with which the veteran German driver performed impressively well during the last few races
and successfully won his third title.
It will be important to note that the 25-year-old had a very intense competition with Fernando Alonso of Ferrari throughout the year, but he finally won the championship battle from the Spaniard by just 3 points after securing 6th place finish
in the epic season finale held at Interlagos in Brazil.
Vettel has become the youngest triple world champion in the history of F1 and is still looking forward to maintain his winning streak in the future.
“I want us to be as successful in 2013 as we have been this year and the previous two years,” Vettel said. “Personally, I have never had to simulate motivation - that is part of my nature.”
Besides, he said that their aim is to make the essential preparations during the winter testing in order to come up stronger in the coming year to defend their championship title.
“Right now it is nice to savour the title win and everything that goes with it,” he said, “but what stays in your memory much more than anything else are the steps that got you there: the nervousness on the grid at the first race, the stress when it didn't
work out as planned, the podiums - all these moments stay in your head forever.”
