Sebastian Vettel focuses on winning while Mark Webber plays cricket in India – Formula 1 news
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing avoids taking part in the promotional events for the Indian Grand Prix taking place this weekend while teammate Mark Webber displays his cricket skills.
Vettel, who is not only getting ready for his fourth consecutive race win this season but also all set to take his third world title in a row, is trying not to take part in the events promoting the Indian GP. He is more focused on competing and is making
sure that nothing will be able to misdirect his focus.
Vettel was successful at winning the first edition of the event last year and is very excited about it this year too. He says that the Buddh International Circuit is very challenging and fun to drive on. He says that the season will see the fight for the
title right until the end so he is determined to perform in all the races that are left.
On the other hand, Webber, who is standing at fifth position on the drivers’ grid and was able to attain a pole position for Red Bull in the last race, has been enjoying playing cricket with famous Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir. The driver is from Australia,
a country which is very strong in cricket.
“A trip to India is not complete without the delicious food and a game of cricket. Just like Formula One, cricket requires a lot of concentration and ability, especially under extreme conditions like you have here. As an athlete, I am always eager to try
my hand at new sports. Today's experience was great fun,” he said.
Gambhir, who had led the Kolkata Knight Riders this summer in the Indian Premiere League (IPL), was very excited about having a day with the Formula 1 driver at the Noida International University.
“It's not every day that you get to play cricket with a Formula One driver. I am looking forward to watching the Indian Grand Prix from the race circuit this weekend and seeing Webber and Vettel battle it out on the track,” Gambhir commented.
Webber insists that despite their lead, Red Bull wants to win the next races too as every race brings a new challenge.
