Sebastian Vettel has a long way to go - Sir Jackie Stewart
Sir Jackie Stewart predicts many more world titles waiting for the new world champion, Sebastian Vettel in the years to come.
The former Formula One driver, and a legendary name in the sport, Stewart, appreciated the way the driver has fought a very tough 2010 Formula One battle. Like everyone else he is also of the view that this season had been one of the most demanding and challenging
for the top drivers, as the title battle remained very tight until the last race of the season.
While praising the young lad, the 71-year-old said, "Sebastian Vettel will certainly be a multiple World Champion. He is hugely talented, has great ability and magnificent focus. We know that because in order to win it this year he had to win the last race.
He was fortunate that people like Alonso didn't get higher up in the standings before the last few races but he is a winner and we will definitely see more from him."
The iconic Formula One driver has been a three-time world champion, and knows very well what it takes to reach that status. However, he accepts that the sport has seen a lot of changes over the years, with many new and young racers like Vettel, Lewis Hamilton
and Robert Kubica taking the competition to new heights.
Moreover, while talking about his team driver’s triumph, the Red Bull team boss Christian Horner said, "Sebastian will only continue to get better. He is still very young, he is still young and learning. He is immensely fast, very intelligent and he has
a lot of years ahead of him."
By bagging five race wins and ten pole positions this year, the 23-year-old has not only laid his hands on the first championship of his career, but has also been able to make several more records in just three years’ career with Formula One. Vettel stands
as the youngest driver in the sports’ history to have earned points and is also the youngest driver ever to get a pole position. Moreover, he holds the record of being the youngest driver to have won a race and now, after breaking Hamilton’s record, he has
also become the youngest driver to have won a championship.
Despite of all the immense success and glory that the German has embraced, in such a short time, everyone in the sport believes that the racer has a long way to go and the upcoming years will see him grab many triumphs.
