Red Bull driver and current Formula One Champion Sebastian Vettel has clearly been the fastest driver in Formula One without a shadow of a doubt. The young German took 10 pole positions along with 5 wins after a dominant season
with the team. Red Bull was able to secure the Constructors’ title along with the Drivers’ title after joining the sports just 6 years ago.
After a dreamlike season for Vettel, the World Champion announced that he will be staying with Red Bull for another year alongside teammate Mark Webber despite the differences between the two drivers. Therefore, Red Bull will be
back in 2011 with the same drivers’ line-up however, the young German recently admitted that he hopes to wear the red uniform one day and join Ferrari, the same team that took his fellow countryman Michael Schumacher to glory.
The RB6 was clearly the best car on the grid throughout the season and definitely the most consistent out of the top 3 teams as well. Nevertheless, Sebastian hinted in a recent interview that he would like to join either Ferrari
or Mercedes after his contract expires with Red Bull.
“No question, it is my wish and goal to drive for Ferrari one day. Or Mercedes, another legendary brand. But right now I'm happy. I have two more years of contract with Red Bull and we have big plans” Vettel told the Media.
However, it seems that the youngest World Champion’s first choice is definitely Ferrari as he hopes to join his closest rival Fernando Alonso and eventually, learn even more about the sport in every way.
Both Sebastian and Fernando have had a similar journey in the sport as both of the drivers started their career in a middle running team but enabled that team to grow and eventually defeat McLaren and Ferrari, who are known as
the two big cheeses of Formula One.
“From the outside it is difficult to imagine the satisfaction of being part of a team as great as Ferrari. Red Bull? I don't keep it in my fridge because I don't like it,” Alonso told the media.
The problem with teams like Red Bull and Renault is that one cannot expect them to deliver each and every year. Just like Renault, a champion winning team is once again now back to its middle running status. There are chances that
Red Bull might deteriorate as well and eventually return to where they started from.
