Sebastian Vettel just wants to enjoy the victory – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that he just wants to enjoy his victory in 2012 Formula 1 season and has refused to express anything regarding the next years.
Vettel claimed his third consecutive world championship title after a dramatic season finale held at Interlagos in Brazil with a lead of just 3 points over his main rival, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
The veteran German driver has been surrounded by many rumours about his credibility to win title with another team. However, he has asserted that he is not paying attention to the ongoing speculations and is focussing to perform well for his team in the
coming year.
“I want to enjoy now,” said Vettel. “I tried to explain to you that for the whole team the most important thing is the present, I don't want to get carried away with next year or next years, I want to have a good time tonight and let's see how long. Sometimes
at some stage you have to charge your batteries, come back in shape next season.”
In addition, he said that he is very happy with his overall accomplishments in his career so far. He also said that he has a contract with the Milton Keynes based team until 2014 and is targeting to achieve more in the future.
“I am with the team, I have a contract until the end of 2014, I am very happy with what we have achieved so far and this story isn't over yet,” the German driver added.
The 25-year-old said that he faced immense difficulties in the final race which could have affected his performance very badly. Nonetheless, he successfully limited the damage for his team and secured an impressive sixth place finish in the race.
Furthermore, he said that they have learnt a lot from the problems which they faced in this season and are now looking forward to come up even stronger in the coming year with a more reliable and competitive car.
It will be very exciting to see how the three-time world champion performs in the next season.
