Sebastian Vettel keeping his fingers crossed about winning the title a third time – Formula 1 news
Sebastian Vettel of the Red Bull Racing team expects the end of the season to be unpredictable as he looks forward to the Indian GP this weekend.
Vettel has been on a winning streak as he won the last three races of the season. The last race which was the Korean Grand Prix brought him a six point lead over Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso who had been leading the drivers’ championship for most of the season.
The driver has also been the winner of the championship in 2010 and 2011 which already makes him not only the youngest consecutive champion but also the youngest doubles champion since he led his team in the constructors’ championship.
Despite being in lead for the current season, Vettel thinks that nothing can assured about his winning the title this year too. He pointed out that with four races still to go, anything can be expected and the fight for the title will continue until the
last race.
If the driver is able to win the Indian GP, he will be snatching his fourth consecutive race win.
“It's been an incredible season for all of us. After Singapore, it looks better for us than before. There are still some races left, and the car looks competitive. We just have to use the momentum and keep pushing in the upcoming races and see what happens,”
Vettel commented.
He added, “It's a bit difficult to predict what's going to happen. We have to make sure that we finish the races first of all. It's a tough championship so far but we're still in it. We're looking forward to the next couple of races, and obviously the target
at the moment is to beat Fernando.”
Vettel has expressed that the Buddh International circuit is not an easy one to drive on but it sure is fun and he is expecting quite a challenge in the race. He has some great memories from being in India from the last time at the inaugural event of the
race besides his race win. He remembers his visit to Taj Mahal fondly.
