Sebastian Vettel might retire after expiration of his contract with RBR – Formula 1 news
According to some reports, it has been revealed that the reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel might retire after his contract with Red Bull Racing team expires despite the fact that he is still in his early 20s at the moment.
“My contract is until then and I am not really looking much further right now. Maybe in four or five years I will have no more desire for Formula One and will want to do something different,” Vettel told the media.
He became a part of the sport when he was 21 and won his first Formula 1 championship in 2010 to become the youngest Formula 1 champion in the history of the sport.
The young German became a part of the sport with Toro Rosso and secured a win after scoring a pole position with the team despite the fact that they used to be one of the back-running teams of the sport back then.
After that, he was signed by the parent team of Toro Rosso Red Bull Racing which gave a boost to his Formula 1 career.
Since his contract is expected to expire in 2014, he claims that he might not be a part of the sport beyond that as he might lose interest in Formula 1 by then.
“The feeling I get when I'm racing is that it's so much fun and gives me more satisfaction than anything else in life. You have the tremendous forces on your body when you step on the brakes and turn the wheel, your brain screams 'Stop, that's impossible!
But then the car shows you that it can be done,” he added.
However, he has the capability of becoming one of the best drivers in the history of the sport as he still has a long way to go and he has already won a championship. In addition, he is currently leading his second championship quite dominantly in 2011.
There are still 3 years to go until the 2014 Formula 1 season and until then, things are going to change a lot as a result of which his decision might change as well.
