Sebastian Vettel not disappointed with third place qualifying for German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has insisted that he is not disappointed with his third place finish on the grid in the qualifying round of the German Grand Prix.
Vettel added that he was in a much better shape during the qualifying round as compared to the Friday Free Practice sessions. He said he was happy with his Qualifying run on Saturday.
The current world champion told the media that his RB7 was much better during the Qualifiers in terms of pace, but his teammate Mark Webber was much faster as compared to him and won a pole place for Sunday’s race.
Talking to the reporters, the German said, “This afternoon was a tight session, and there was not much missing. In Q3 I had two solid runs and maybe lost out in the last sector, but all in all Mark [Webber] was very quick and did a good lap today, it would
have been very close.”
After the qualifiers, the 24-year-old driver told the media that he enjoyed his time at his home track during the Friday and Saturday sessions. In addition, he stated that despite his third place in the qualifying round of the Nürburgring race weekend, he
is looking forward to a successful German Grand Prix.
Vettel also mentioned that it will be a long race on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Nürburgring if rain interrupts.
He went on to add, “I don't race and think about the championship all the time, it is important to finish the race tomorrow but first of all I am going to enjoy it. That was very nice. I will enjoy that more than anything else tomorrow whatever the result
might be.”
The defending champion further mentioned that he will try his best to impress his home crowd by winning the German Grand Prix.
After the qualifying round, Vettel is ready to perform strongly on the grid during Sunday’s race. Let’s see how he manages his race in Nürburgring after starting from the third place on the front row.
