Sebastian Vettel praises RB6 over RB7, lauds Red Bull team for a great year – Formula 1 news
The newly crowned 2011 world championship winner Sebastian Vettel, hails 2010s’ RB6 to be more dominant than the latest RB7.
Even though he has won the championship following the race at Suzuka, Vettel feels he was more dominant on the track with the 2010 RB6. Vettel claimed the 2010 title after an exhilarating and dramatic face-off at the final race in Abu Dhabi, however the
2011 championship has been an inevitable scenario for the most part of the season.
Vettel took 12 pole positions out of 15 qualifying sessions and the other three were taken by his compatriot Mark Webber. The German has also bagged nine victories from 15 races, but feels that it has not been as easy as it was for him in 2010.
Vettel said, “I think that it's very likely for people to draw the wrong conclusion, to say that we had a very easy run this year. Things like this, they happen for a reason; I strongly believe that, not because things were easy for us. We had a very, very
good car, no doubt, but we had an even stronger team, and as I said, a couple of times already, I think the car this year was less dominant than the car last year.”
He suggested that the experiences they have gone through in 2011 has made the team learn a lot of things, and they will most definitely work on them to be even stronger and tougher to beat in 2012. He felt that even he used 2010 experiences, worked hard
enough and earned the reward, but most importantly came out stronger than before.
Let’s see how the newly crowned 2011 world champion Sebastian Vettel fares in the remainder of the season. With the kind of form Red Bull Racing currently is in, they should be able to win their second consecutive constructors’ title comfortably as well
in the ongoing season.
