Sebastian Vettel says Ferrari is legend, happy with Adrian Newey – Formula 1
Red Bull’s driver and current Formula 1 champion, Sebastian Vettel, has once again showed a willingness to drive for the Ferrari team. Vettel has also suggested that his move in any team is directly influenced by Adrian Newey, Red Bull’s technical director.
Twice in a week, Vettel has said that his move to any other team is dependent on Adrian Newey. Talking about the Ferrari shift, Vettel has once again said that he would love to drive for the Ferrari team one day but for now, he is happy with the Red Bull team and their car, RB7.
Vettel stated that he is asked about Ferrari shift every now and then and his answer is, “If I talk about it [Ferrari] so often, it's because I'm often asked about it. Ferrari is something special, as I've said many times. For me, Ferrari is a legend and, one day, it would be an honour for me to have my name on the list of Ferrari drivers.”
However, Vettel also said that his move to any other team is connected with Newey. The German driver, who is the youngest Formula 1 champion, said that he as a driver is nothing and he needs the whole team working around him.
Vettel commented, “But that doesn't mean I want to go there now - I'm happy where I am and this is why I've renewed for a couple of seasons. It is about all the team, not just me or one other person like Adrian Newey.”
Vettel’s move to Red Bull team in first place was partly due to the fact that Adrian was in the team. The German has recently signed a multi-million dollar contract with the Red Bull team after which his dream of moving to Ferrari was postponed until 2014. Along with Vettel, Newey also signed a deal until 2014.
As far as Ferrari is concerned, their technical director, Aldo Costa, has failed to make Ferrari’s 2011 car, a champion machine. In the near future, a possible move of Vettel and Newey can be expected for the Ferrari team because the luxurious Italian icon is in search of a saviour for their name in the Formula 1 sport.
