Sebastian Vettel says Red Bull Racing are pushing hard to win championship title – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that they are pushing really hard to win both the drivers’ and the constructors’ championship titles for which they have planned to come up with some essential updates in the remainder of the 2012 Formula
1 season.
Vettel is presently standing at second place in the drivers’ rankings with 190 points and after winning the Japanese Grand Prix, he is now just 4 points behind Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
After claiming victory in the last race, the veteran German driver praised his team for developing the most competitive car. Moreover, he said that they are trying their best to keep on making the necessary step-ups so as to be able to win the championship.
“I think everyone is pushing very hard, and it's not about winning me this title, it's about winning the title for us,” Vettel said. “That's our target and that's why we're all pushing so hard all the guys in Milton Keynes.”
In addition, he said that he and his teammate, Mark Webber provide the significant feedback regarding the upgrades which helps the engineers to make further advancements and ensures that everything is going in the right way.
“Obviously it's not my job to fly the parts around the world or pick them up and drive them to the race track but obviously the feedback we give - Mark [Webber] and myself - is extremely important for the guys here at the track, the engineers, the guys at
the factory to go in the right direction.” he added.
Besides, he said that they are planning to launch some new updates in their car in the Korean GP which is to be held at Korea International Circuit this weekend.
The Milton Keynes based team is presently leading the constructors’ championship. Though, they have a strong lead over their main rival, McLaren but they are not taking anything easy as the competition is still very tough.
It will be exciting to see how all the teams perform in the remaining five races of the current season and whether the defending champions will be able to defend their championship title or not.
