Sebastian Vettel says he can’t imagine of leaving Red Bull Racing – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that he can’t imagine of leaving his current team at the end of 2013 and asserted that he is not thinking about moving to Ferrari in the future.
Vettel has been surrounded by a lot of speculations that he may join the Scarlet team at the conclusion of the next season. However, the veteran German driver has said that he has no plan to change his present team.
“I have everything I need at Red Bull and I can’t even imagine leaving at the moment,” he said.
It will be important to mention that the president of the Italian team, Luca di Montezemolo discharged all the rumours linking the defending champion with his team. In addition, he said that they will never keep two world champions in their team.
“I don’t want to have two roosters in the same henhouse,” he told Rai radio.
“I don’t want problems and rivalries, which we didn’t have between Schumacher and Irvine, between Schumacher and Barrichello, between Alonso and Massa or Massa and Schumi or Massa and Raikkonen,” Montezemolo added.
Even though, Montezemolo’s expressions have been interpreted as if he is just saying no to the youngest world champion, however, an anonymous Ferrari official website columnist said that they will have a race seat for anyone who has the potential to be in
their team.
“It’s a pity that Montezemolo had simply stated a principle, nothing more, nothing less,” he said.
It is to be noted that although the 25-year-old has said that he has a very deep affiliation with the Milton Keynes based team but earlier this year he expressed that he would like to be in the most successful team in the history of the sport.
After claiming his third consecutive win in the Korean GP, he is now leading the drivers’ championship and is 6 points ahead of Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who has been on the top for most of the time in the ongoing season.
Furthermore, he has been deemed as the outright favourite for this year’s championship title. Let’s see how he performs in the remainder of the season.
