Sebastian Vettel says he is happy with British Grand Prix qualifying results – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has that he is happy and satisfied with the results of the qualifying round of the 2011 Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
Vettel has secured second place for Sunday’s race ahead of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso. After the qualifying session, the German told the media that he is quite happy with his second place and now he is looking forward to a successful race day on Sunday, July
10, 2011 at the Silverstone racetrack.
He also mentioned that he will have to struggle for his race victory in Silverstone, as he will start his race from the second place on the starting grid.
The team driver discussed his qualifying round in Silverstone and added that the track was quite tough, as it has high-speed corners.
Vettel said, “It was not an easy session with the conditions changing. It was easy to go wide and go into travel like Fernando, so all in all it was very tight. There's not much between the cars and if you get a chance to try again you could find a sniff
here or there. It was a good step today.”
The current world champion had a very close fight with his teammate Mark Webber and Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso in the closing minutes of the Q3. However, Webber finally beat Vettel and secured a pole place for Sunday’s race.
Despite his second place in the qualifying session, Vettel is sure that he can still produce quick lap times during his races of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The 24-year-old driver went on to add, “We kept our heads cool. We thought there might be a lot of talk, so we are happy when we jump into car, because we are allowed to focus on what is important. Tomorrow a is long race, the tyres will be very important.”
Red Bull team is quite happy with their both of its drivers’ run in the qualifying session and now they are looking forward to a successful Silverstone race weekend.
