Sebastian Vettel says third consecutive title is unbelievable – Formula 1 news
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel stated that it is unbelievable to become the third consecutive F1 champion as the season ends with the exciting Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend.
“It's very difficult to find the right words, especially after the race today,” Vettel said. “I think that everything that could go wrong went wrong and as a matter of a fact we always kept believing instead of getting angry and frustrated about the situation.
Imagine yourself; you are the wrong way around at turn four; I had a lot of cars coming and I was in the wrong way. Then I went off the brakes because everyone is going in this direction so to join them I tried to roll downhill and avoid cars driving backwards!”
The driver confessed that he had to face many problems during the race which included a track incident at the start of the race after which his car got turned into the wrong direction and also his radio was broken so that he had no communication with his
team.
He said that the collision caused his car to damage and he lost his pace over the straights which made it easier for other drivers to overtake him. He also pointed out that he made a wrong pit stop having no connection with his team so that he was on the
wrong tyres when it started to rain.
Vettel finished the race in sixth place despite having been pushed down to the end of the grid due to the collision in the first lap. Vettel stated that he believes that to be successful, you need to do the right thing at the right time but then you can
also make your own luck. He said that he does not drive because of the cheque he expects each month but because he loves F1 and the excitement of motorsports.
He has also appreciated the Red Bull team for its efforts throughout the season. Vettel said that he thinks that this season has been the most difficult for the team. He stated that while the rivals tried to play many tricks, the team never got frustrated
and kept focusing on the goal.
