Sebastian Vettel scores fastest time of final free practice session of 2011 Canadian Grand Prix
Red Bull Racing team driver Sebastian Vettel scored the fastest time of the final free practice session of the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix and shocked the spectators since the reigning world champion struggled to perform in both of the Friday free practice
sessions.
Vettel crashed during the first free practice session as a result of which, he barely took part in that session but since his team had a lot of time to fix the car before the beginning of the second session, the young German luckily got the chance to score
some pretty good laps during and finished in 2nd place in the timesheets for the session.
This time however, his teammate Mark Webber struggled to score some good laps as his car had some problem with its Kinetic Energy Recovery System.
The final free practice session was not as eventful as the first two but in the end, Pedro de la Rosa, who replaced Sergio Perez at Sauber for the session crashed causing red flags near the end of the session.
Nevertheless, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso was once again at the top of his game as he scored the second fastest time of the session which was just 3 tenths slower than Sebastian’s fastest time.
He was followed by Nico Rosberg and Felipe Massa in 3rd and 4th places in the timesheets respectively while the two McLaren drivers scored the 5th and 6th fastest times of the session.
Again, Jenson Button was the faster McLaren driver as Lewis Hamilton struggled to find pace in Montreal. Michael Schumacher on the other hand scored the 7th fastest time of the session giving Mercedes GP a versatile result for the session.
Vitaly Petrov and Adrian Sutil scored the 8th and 9th places respectively in the timesheets followed by Paul di Resta in 10th.
The qualifying session of the Canadian Grand Prix is going to be quite exhilarating and unpredictable since everything has been going on in Canada this weekend.
Let’s see how the Sunday race turns out to be in Montreal.
