Sebastian Vettel sets pace in FP3 of 2012 Japanese Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver, Sebastian Vettel has topped the timesheets in the third free practice session of the 2012 Japanese Grand Prix held at Suzuka.
Vettel set the best time of 1 minute and 32.136 seconds in FP3 and was followed by his teammate, Mark Webber. Moreover, both the Red Bull drivers managed to collect the necessary information regarding their update packages.
The Australian driver stayed ahead of Felipe Massa of Ferrari who seemed quite comfortable behind the wheel of his car. Furthermore, Massa and was followed by Michael Schumacher of Mercedes who showed impressive pace after recovering from the accident on
Friday in which he dislodged his front wing.
The seven-time world champion remained ahead of Sergio Perez of Sauber who was further followed by his teammate, Kamui Kobayashi.
Lotus driver, Romain Grosjean set the 7th best time and was followed by Jenson Button who faced few difficulties with his pace in the last practice session as compared to the first two.
The British driver stayed ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India who came 9th in the charts. Di Resta was followed by Pastor Maldonado of Williams who remained ahead of the current leader in the drivers’ championship, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus was not comfortable with his car and could only set 12th fastest time as he faced a loose rear and a heavy front end. Even though, he had some changed to his anti-roll bar at the front but it didn’t provide any help.
The Finnish driver was followed by Lewis Hamilton of McLaren who was further followed by Jean-Eric Vergne of Toro Rosso.
Nico Rosberg of Mercedes came 15th in the timesheets and stayed ahead of Bruno Senna of Williams. The Brazilian stood ahead of Daniel Ricciardo of Toro Rosso who was further followed by Nico Hulkenberg of Force India.
Hulkenberg remained ahead of Caterham pair of drivers, Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov. Besides, Petrov was followed by Marussia drivers, Timo Glock and Charles Pic.
Additionally, Narain Karthikeyan of HRT came 23rd in the charts and was followed by his teammate, Pedro de la Rosa.
