Sebastian Vettel thinks Red Bull Racing still need improvements – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that they still need to make some essential improvements in their car so as to compete with McLaren and Ferrari in the 2012 Korean Grand Prix.
Vettel topped the timesheets in the second free Friday practice session at Korea International Circuit and was just 0.032 seconds ahead of his teammate, Mark Webber.
Additionally, they have successfully gathered the essential information about their car’s updates which will surely help in making the further advancement. However, the veteran German driver insisted that they still need to improve their pace to match with
their major rivals in the forthcoming race.
Furthermore, he said that they are definitely going to try their best to come up stronger in the third practice and the qualifying in order to secure a competitive grid slot for this weekend’s race to attain good results.
 “I think all in all we can be quite happy,” Vettel said. “It was extremely tight; I'm not happy with every run we had today but I think track was changing quite a lot. This morning it was better than expected, this afternoon to start with it was quite slippery
but then it got little bit better. So all in all the car felt alright and now we'll see what we can do for tomorrow. I think we have to improve ourselves to match the others.”
In addition, he said that although they struggled to find the required level of grip on the track during the morning session. Nevertheless, he said that they are contended with the overall performance of the car. Besides, he said they are not facing any
tyre degradation issue which is a very good sign.
“I think we had a little bit this morning but I think that was mostly down to circuit,” he added.
The defending champion has once again become the most favourite title contender after claiming victory in the Japanese GP as he is now just 4 points behind the leading driver, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
Let’s see how he performs in the remainder of the season and whether he will be able to defend his championship title or not.
