Sebastian Vettel tops the timesheets of the 3rd Free Practice session of the Turkish Grand Prix
Red Bull Racing Team’s Sebastian Vettel topped the timesheets of the final Free Practice session at the Istanbul Park for the Turkish Grand Prix.
It was quite surprising for the audience as the reigning world champion was unable to score a promising performance throughout the weekend until now, mainly because of the fact that he crashed during the first free practice session that took place last Friday.
As a result of this crash, Sebastian was unable to take part in the 2nd free practice session and it seemed that the young German might have to go through a tough time throughout the weekend.
However, the final session was the complete opposite of what everyone was expecting since Vettel came back with a bang and scored the fastest time of the session but just by 1 thousandth of a second.
Michael Schumacher surprised the audience as well since he was the 2nd fastest driver of the session, followed by his teammate Mark Webber in 3rd place, according to the timesheets.
Mercedes GP is looking pretty strong until now as Nico Rosberg was able to secure the 4th place in the timesheets, followed by the two McLaren drivers, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, as the 5th and 6th fastest drivers
of the session, respectively.
Vitaly Petrov’s Lotus Renault GP followed them in 7th place ahead of the 2 Ferrari drivers, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, in 8th and 9th places, respectively, according to the timesheets.
However, the top 9 drivers were divided by just 8 tenths of a second, which means that the competition is going to be very close at the upcoming qualifying session, expected to take place in a couple of hours.
Sebastian Vettel is still unbeaten at the qualifying sessions as he has scored 3 pole positions in 3 races until now in this season, but since McLaren has been closing in on Red Bull since the beginning of this season, it seems that the qualifying session
is going to be quite a ride for the top running teams of the sport.
