Sebastian Vettel unhappy with Lewis Hamilton’s driving in 2012 German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel is feeling really unhappy with the way Lewis Hamilton of McLaren drove in 2012 German Grand Prix.
Vettel said that Hamilton’s intention to unlap himself was quite strange and asserted that the British driver should drive rationally.
The veteran German driver took a superb start from 2nd grid position in the German GP at Hockenheimring and was just 0.7 second behind Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. However, he lost some crucial time because the Brit un-lapped himself after a puncture
in the second lap and came between Alonso and the defending champion.
Later, Vettel expressed that he didn’t understand the stance of the Briton during the race and said that he should have used some commonsense.
“That was not nice of Lewis. I don't see why he was racing us,” said Vettel. “If he wants to go fast he should drop back and find a gap. It was stupid as he was a lap down. If you want to go quick and you have no chance to win the race you should respect
that and use common sense. I didn't expect him to attack because I didn't see the point, and then I was surprised when he was side by side. I think that lost us the place to Button because shortly after that we pitted.”
One the other hand, Alonso didn’t feel offended by Hamilton’s move and said that it was actually good for him as he got the time to increase the gap from the contenders who were in his chase.
At present, the Spaniard is leading the drivers’ championship with 154 points. Meanwhile, Vettel is at third place in the drivers’ standings behind his teammate, Mark Webber and is ahead of Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus who is further followed by Hamilton.
The competition has been very tough in the current season as all the contenders are busy in making the considerable advancements so as to enhance their cars’ pace to fight for the title.
Above and beyond, it will be immensely exciting to see how all the teams show up in the Hungarian GP.
