Sebastian Vettel wants Red Bull Racing team to be faster than McLaren – Formula 1 news
The reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel has recently urged Red Bull Racing team to improve its performance and find out why McLaren are performing better comparatively since the past two races of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
“I wouldn't say that it makes me worried, but of course we also cannot accept it. We have to analyse what made them stronger and what cost us a bit of time. We clearly want to get back to where we were at the beginning of the season,” he said.
He added that Jenson Button deserved the race win at the Hungaroring this past weekend as he controlled the unforeseen conditions very well.
“Well, I think that Jenson was a bit unlucky at the last two races and his win today was well deserved. He has demonstrated that under difficult conditions he's bloody fast, so congratulations on a well-deserved win,” said Vettel.
McLaren are on a role as they have secured two race victories in a row and now they are quite clearly much faster than RBR when it comes to race pace at least.
Lewis Hamilton gained on Vettel very easily during the Hungarian Grand Prix this past weekend and it seemed as if the RBR just do not have the pace to compete alongside McLaren when it comes to racing.
In the qualifying however, the championship leader secured another pole position and maintained RBR’s undefeated streak for the 2011 Formula 1 season.
However, points are scored only after races as a result of which, RBR have been struggling for points and statistically, they are not as strong as either McLaren or Ferrari.
The team has not won a single race since the past three races as the German and the Hungarian Grand Prix were won by McLaren while the British Grand Prix was secured by Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso.
This is not good news for the young German as he needs to maintain his drivers’ standing’s lead for another 8 races and since his rivals Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber are closing in on him, he needs to be very consistent.
