Sebastian Vettel wishes a Merry Christmas to all his fans
One wonders if the Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel has ever embraced a happier Christmas season than the current one. The trail of celebrations is yet far from over. One after the other, the driver jets from country to country,
receiving awards and attending galas, since the day he won the 2010 Drivers’ Championship.
As the youngest champion of the sport ever, Vettel celebrates his first Christmas season after becoming the champion in November, and while talking to his fans and the media, he extended them warm wishes for Christmas and the New
Year.
The driver said, “I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We had a truly fantastic season - even though it was a long and at times a pretty tough one for me: a rollercoaster ride with a very happy ending! I know
that many of you crossed your fingers for me every race weekend - and I honestly wish that this support will go on forever!”
The young driver concluded saying, “I am already looking forward to 2011 - again with all of you at my side!”
The 2010 season has been one of the most amazing and nerve tickling ones in Formula One’s history. With suspense and thrill mounting all through the season, and immense drama and action unfolding at the track in each and every
round, the battle went on with the same intensity till the very last race of the season. The top five drivers Vettel, Mark Webber, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, and the top three teams, Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren kept fighting till
the very end. However, as the year finally drew to a close, Vettel emerged as the last man standing, providing the sport’s history books with a new record.
At the age of 23 years and 9 months the driver turned over Lewis Hamilton’s record becoming the youngest champion in the sport’s history. The fierce battle at the Yas Marina Circuit, during the last race of the season, the Abu
Dhabi Grand Prix, saw the German leading the caravan of cars right from the start and finally as the day ended he embraced his first championship, leaving three world champions and his teammate disappointed.
Since that evening, party and merrymaking have taken over the Red Bull squad, who also claimed their first Constructors’ Championship, and the partying is far from over and now that it’s Christmas time... it’s time for more celebrations.
