Sebastian Vettel won’t be ‘stupid’ to leave Red Bull - Helmut Marko
Since he has won his championship, everyone is concerned about the likely move of the Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel to the legendary team, Ferrari. When asked the same question once again, Helmut Marko, the team consultant replied that
it would be "stupid" of Vettel to switch to Ferrari knowing that Red Bull can hand him a faster car in the upcoming Formula One season.
Red Bull Racing is a senior team owned by the Austrian energy drink manufacturer, Red Bull. The other Formula One team owned by the same company is Toro Rosso. Only after six complete seasons with the highest ranking auto racing series of the world, Red
Bull has been able to lay its hands on both the drivers’ as well as the constructors’ Championship of 2010 Formula One season.
Last year, the team’s car, RB6 was the fastest car of the season, while its driver Vettel emerged as the title win in a nerve-wrecking competition. After a very intense battle between the top five drivers all through the season, the young German was able
to grab the title at the last round of the season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Having bagged his first championship at the age of 23 years and 9 months, he has not only become the youngest champion ever in the series but has also developed a very strong repute
for himself. Everyone in the sport knows the potential of the driver and that he has a very long way to go.
While talking to the media, Marko, the right-hand man for team owner Dietrich Mateschitz said, "It's only natural for a race driver to dream of Ferrari, and for Ferrari to want a great driver like Sebastian.”
However, the 67-year-old, who is also a very close friend of the new world champion, Vettel, believes that the German will make his decision cautiously. The Austrian explained saying, "Sebastian won't leave us just because of the Ferrari legend. He is smart
enough to know that the time would have to be right for him. He would have to be stupid to go there with Fernando Alonso.”
Marko confidently added, "We are the world championship team, and as long as we offer Sebastian a package that is better than the others, he's not going to leave just because of a mythical history."
