Sebastian Vettel would welcome Mark Webber on re-singing with Red Bull – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that he has no issues with Mark Webber re-singing with the team for 2013 while he said that they are here to work together.
There have been a lot of speculations that Webber may leave Red Bull at the end of this season as his contract is going to expire. However, it has been reported now that he may extend his contract beyond the current season with the defending champions.
Meanwhile, there have been many rumours that the veteran German driver may have problems with Webber’s contract extension. Nevertheless, the two-time world champion dismissed all the reports and asserted that they don’t have any kind of issue with each other.
Moreover, he said that although they are not friends but they get along well as they work together for their team. In addition, he admired the performance of his teammate in the season so far.
“I can understand why people are thinking that there is a problem between Mark and myself,” his team-mate Vettel told Autosport. “Yes, we might not be best friends, but I have no problem with him and he has no problem with me. We have a similar view for
the car, it's not as if one likes the set-up in the opposite way to the other. I think that is helping us, and so far it is working quite well. I'm not sure of his contract, but at the moment I think he is doing a very good job.”
It will be important to mention that Webber has been one of the most consistent drivers in the season until now and is currently standing at second place in the drivers’ championship with 91 points. Besides, he is 20 points behind the leading driver, Fernando
Alonso of Ferrari.
On the other hand, Vettel is at fourth place in the drivers’ rankings with 85 points. Additionally, he is 10 points ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes and 3 points behind Lewis Hamilton of McLaren.
Over and above, there are no doubts that both the drivers are extremely talented and it will be quite interesting to see how the season progresses for them.
