Sebastien Buemi future looks more secure at Toro Rosso: Formula 1 News
Toro Rosso’s driver, Sebastien Buemi, future seems more secure with his current team, after a shinning race performance in Istanbul, on Sunday May 8.
The Swiss driver really impressed his team with a drive from sixteenth on the grid to ninth until the checker flag in the Turkey race weekend. Toro Rosso's boss, Franz Tost, told the media that they have rarely seen so much fight from Buemi, however in recent
race he showed his good performance on the grid.
On the other hand, team’s technical boss Giorgio Ascanelli is agreed with a fact that Buemi is a matured driver and he has learnt a lot with his mistakes. Now, he is focused on his job with his new fitness coach.
After a successful race in Turkey, the team expected more from him, as they claimed Buemi is a driver with a bright future with Toro Rosso's team.
The 22-year-old driver admitted that he is bit happy due to his current race condition on the grid. He went on to add, “I don't think I could have done better. However, it's true that in the final two laps I lost two places and if not for this we could have
brought home a seventh place finish.”
He further added, “But I could not even hold the steering wheel anymore because there was so much vibration coming through from the tyres: it was not due to tyre wear, so we will have to analyse carefully what happened as I had not felt this before.”
Buemi had a good start in 2011 season, as he finished his eighth fastest run in the Australia race. He took part in Malaysian Grand Prix with hopes of getting closer to the top runners, but due to some technical issues in his car, he failed to deliver his
best run against the other strong rivals of Formula 1. However, he finished in the 13th place for the team.
After a disappointing race in Sepang, he participated in the China race weekend, where he successfully completed both the practice session and qualifying round, but the race again proved unlucky for a Swiss driver, as he has some issues in his car. As a
result of it, he could not get any single point for his team.
Before the start of a recent race, the team fixed all those issues, which the drivers faced in the previous races of this season. The team had a tough start in Turkish Grand Prix, as both the drivers, Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari started their race at the
sixteenth and seventeenth place, respectively, on the grid. The Sunday race in Istanbul proved lucky for Buemi, because he has been remained successful to produce some supportive points for the team.
The fifth race of 2011 season will take place in Spain, on May 22.
