Sebastien Buemi no longer in run for race seat at Force India – Formula 1 news
Former Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Buemi is no more in the running for the race seat at Force India, according to Swiss newspaper Blick.
Buemi has been reported as a potential candidate for the vacancy at the Silverstone based team along with his Toro Rosso teammate, Jaime Alguersuari. However, they are no more in contemplation, according to the statement.
But the reports have stated that Adrian Sutil and Jules Bianchi are still in consideration for the race seat at Force India.
It will be important to mention that Force India and Caterham are the only two contenders who have not finalised their next year’s driver line-up. Meanwhile, there are many drivers who are looking forward to secure a race seat for the coming year.
Buemi and Alguersuari have been very hopeful about their chances regarding securing a race seat at Force India. But they are no more in consideration.
It is to be noted that even though, Force India have not announced their 2013 driver line-up. However, Paul di Resta’s place is very much confirmed for the next season.
On the other hand, Nico Hulkenberg, who performed impressively well for Force India in 2012, will drive for Sauber in 2013.
The Swiss driver was very much hopeful about his return to F1 in this year, but unfortunately he remained unable to secure a race seat at any team.
“It's good to be the third driver for Red Bull,” Buemi told 20 Minuten. “Red Bull is number one team in Formula One and I have a foot in the door. It also helps your chances of getting a cockpit and returning to the grid next year. It's more accurate
to say I cannot tell you before the ink is dry on a contract. But I can say that it looks good at the moment.”
“No, I would not (drive for HRT or Marussia). Of course I want to race again, but these teams are just too far away from all the rest,” he added.
It will be very interesting to see how the teams, which have changed their line-ups for the coming season, perform as compared to those who are going to take part with the same drivers.
