Sebastien Buemi urges Toro Rosso to improve even more in future – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Buemi has recently stated that he wants his team to improve even more and that they should try their best to score better results in the future in order to improve their overall constructors’ performance.
“The objective at the start of the season was to finish eighth in the Championship. We were seventh for a long time but now we have lost a place to Force India, so we are now eighth. It's really important that we continue to improve the car. This is the
key during the second half of the season,” he said.
Both Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari have been scoring some pretty decent results for the team and the team has proved this year that it is improving their performance each year as they plan to score better results.
“If we can bring some new parts that work well on the car, it should be no problem to keep doing what we have been doing so far. If we don't improve the car, it is going to be hard. We have some stuff coming for Spa which hopefully is going to help us,”
said Buemi.
Toro Rosso are currently in 8th place with 22 points and they are in a very strong position of competing for the 7th place as Force India are just 4 points ahead of them in the constructors’ standings.
He added that the team is hoping to close the gap with its rivals and since there are still 8 races left in the 2011 Formula 1 season, they have a pretty good chance of scoring some pretty good results and scoring a strong finish to the season.
Williams on the other hand are in 9th place and they are 18 points behind Toro Rosso in the constructors’ standings. They have been struggling to perform this year and Toro Rosso should not worry much about them in the standings.
Toro Rosso have been scoring points consistently this year and have scored some pretty decent qualifying results as well as a result of which, they are hoping for some major improvements for the next year.
