Sebastien Le Toux ends his scoring woes with a brace against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/New-England-Revolution-c40026
Sebastien Le Toux’s brace in the Wednesday game was a major topic of discussion in the Major League Soccer circles as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philadelphia-Union-c40231 fought back to draw the match against New England Revolution. The final score was a thrilling 4-4.
The Frenchman saw a prolonged drought in the current season that eventually ended in the last match against Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto. The player scored his first goal from open play in the ongoing season as he had scored three penalties at the start of
the season.
“In Salt Lake, we lost but I was happy to score my first one in the run of play because all of you guys the media were talking about that,” Le Toux said post-match. “It was good for me, but I hope in the future my goals will help the team win, not just tie.”
The Union became the fifth team in the MLS history to make a comeback from a 4-1 deficit in the second half and the credit mainly goes to Le Toux. The player converted a penalty in the 79th minute and scored the equalizer from just outside the
box in the first minute of the second-half stoppage time to send the fans back home with happy faces.
The player had been criticized by the media for lack of goals in the current season. Last year, he led the Union with 14 goals in the club’s first MLS season. The hard work finally paid off as the player now has a respectable six goals and eight assists
in the current term but more is expected from the Designated Player.
“I think it’s good for me,” Le Toux said. “My teammates joke around with me, especially http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stefani-Miglioranzi-c34039, that in the last 10 games I’m going to score every game and help the team the best I can like I didn’t do at the beginning of the season. I hope
this is the case.”
