Sebastien Toutant makes an early exit from the Brain Farm shoot due to injury
The Canadian professional snowboarder, Sebastien Toutant, sustained an injury while participating in the Brain Farm Aspen shoot on Saturday, May 7, in Aspen, Colorado. While attempting a huge double back-side rodeo, he caught his edge on the kicker and ended
up crashing.
He was rushed to the Aspen Hospital for immediate medical attention. After multiple x-rays, it was discovered in the evening that the pro-snowboarder had sustained a hair-line fracture in his right ankle. This was the same ankle that he had injured last
year while competing at the Air and Style event last season.
After the medical reports, the Montreal local flew back home as he was put out of action because of the hair-line fracture. He will be unable to participate in the rest of the spring-session season. This news came as a real bummer for the fans of the Canadian
action sport athlete who is definitely one of the most exciting snowboarder in the world.
It remains to be seen whether Toutant will be making a cameo in the movie that was being shot at Aspen. The Cineflex helicopter was in the air and the cameras were already rolling when the unfortunate incident took place. According to the 18-year-old, he
was just pulling off warm up tricks before he got hurt. If the double-back rodeo was just a warm up trick for him, then one can only wonder just what sort of sensational tricks was he going to unleash later. Unfortunately, due to the injury, the curtain will
not be raised for a long time now and we’ll simply have to sit and wait.
The Travis Rice and the Brain Farm crew started their private park and pipe shoot this week in Aspen with an impressive line-up of skiers and riders joining them at the mountain. They were filming the second to last segment for the two-year movie project,
'The Art of Flight', which is scheduled to be released this fall.
A lot of sensational tricks are being thrown down at the Aspen resort for the latest segment, which include the triple corks as well.
Mark McMorris, Eric Willett, Travis Rice and Danny Davis are also present on the location for the session. Morris also ended up hurting his shoulder on Saturday, but he still managed to finish out the session with the rest of the snowboarders.
The filming for the second-last segment of the 'The Art of Flight' will continue in Aspen before the crew pack up their equipment a week later.
Toutant is included in the heavy-weights of snowboarding due to his exceptional skills and style. A competed in his first Winter X Games this year and walked away with two medals, a gold and a silver. He ended the Swatch Ticket to Ride (TTR) World Snowboarding
tour in top five.
It is indeed going to be a huge disappointment for the fans of snowboarding to see him missing from the highly-anticipated film.
